The Atlanta Business Chronicle has published a byliner by Hartman Simons' Peter Hartman on the growing demand of retailers in high-end, walkable mixed-use projects to have local, chef-driven restaurants as co-tenants.
Below is a key excerpt:
One of the first times I encountered this requirement for local, chef-driven restaurants to be a critical part of the tenant mix was while we were working on Avalon, a $600 million mixed-use project opening in Alpharetta this October.
North American Properties, which developed Avalon, got the message. In fact, the team at NAP, including managing partner Mark Toro, already knew chef-driven restaurants would be key to a successful Avalon. They worked hard to land some of the Southeast’s best-known chefs like Ford Fry, Shaun Doty and Steve Palmer.
