It has been a busy year at Hartman Simons – including on the social media front! In 2011 we launched Hartman Simons’ Commercial Real Estate Blog, Facebook page and Twitter Account. We also redesigned our website to better serve our clients. It was hard to pick favorites, but we thought it would be fun to select four of our best blogs from 2011 for our last Four on Friday of the year!
- Looking out for Landlords (April) – Written by Partner Jeremy Cohen, the blog entry outlines three questions landlords should consider when an existing tenant comes to renegotiate its lease before a renewal period. This blog remains relevant and is a must-read for landlords and tenants.
- Thinking Outside the Traditional “Retail Box” (July) – Leasing to non-traditional tenants (NTT) was a big trend in 2011. As retail continued to struggle, Partner Lori Kilberg saw everything from outpatient clinics to colleges leasing space in traditional shopping centers. Lori shares why this can be a win-win for landlords and NTTs.
- The Art of Landing – and Keeping – Clients and Customers – (September) Who better to give this advice than our Managing Partner Summey Orr? Summey shares seven tips to reel in – and keep – clients. His insightful blog also will put a smile on your face with tips like “Don’t be a Hater” and “Know Thyself (And Assume the Prospect Can Figure Thyself Out).”
- Conflict Waivers – a Continuing Conundrum (October) In our last (but definitely not least) pick, Partner Benno Rothschild provides the lowdown on conflict waivers. He defines conflict waivers and also explains how conflicts of interests happen and how the process for identifying them has changed in recent years.
Let us know if there are topics you want us to tackle in 2012. We have 28 attorneys ready to share their insights and advice – and they’re all vying for a spot on next year’s best blog list.
Hartman Simons would like to wish all our readers, clients and friends a prosperous 2012!
